START BASKETBALL

In order to start basketball, please be in contact with the office (essi.siponen@onmky.fi) or contact the teams coach directly.

We have a two-week free trial period for new players.

WHAT TO BRING

For practice, you need to bring indoor sporting clothes (shorts, t-shirt, indoor sports shoes and a water bottle). If you have a basketball, you can bring it with you.

WHAT DOES IT COST

All members/players are required to pay monthly fee. Invoices are sent via the myClub register.

REGISTRATION AFTER TRIAL PERIOD

Oulun NMKY uses myClub for member register, event management, communications and invoicing.

You can register into MyClub by following instructions:

  • Go to www.myclub.fi and click Log In at the top of the page.
  • Select Find a Club and enter Oulun NMKY in the search field.
  • Click on the club logo/name that appears in the search results.
  • Select Register a New Member Account.
  • Enter the player’s and guardian’s information, and choose ”Uudet pelaajat” as the group.
  • Once your registration has been received, our office will assign you to the correct team.
  • Your member account is now created, and you can continue using myClub. Through the service, you can view team events, register for activities, and receive important announcements from the club and your team.

If you have previously had a myClub account:

  • During the registration process, you will only be asked for your email address.
  • Enter your email address and select Reset Password.
  • The system will send a PIN code to your email address, which you can use to set a new password.
  • After that, you can continue with the registration of the new player.
PLAYER LICENSE

After the trial period, all players are required to obtain a player licence from the Finnish Basketball Association.

Your coach will be able to advise you on which licence is appropriate for your player.

CANCEL MEMBERSHIP

By registering for Oulu NMKY basketball, you agree to pay the monthly activity fee until you formally notify us of your withdrawal. Please follow the instructions below to cancel your participation.

Please note: Informing only the coach is not sufficient and will not stop the billing.

HOW TO CANCEL

1. Send a cancellation notice by email to: (essi.siponen@onmky.fi)
2. Include the player’s name and the team they have been playing in.
3. If you wish, you may also tell us the reason for cancelling (optional information). Your feedback helps us improve our activities.

NOTICE PERIOD

The notice period is one full calendar month. This means that you will be charged for the current month and the following month. During this notice period, the player may continue to participate in practices and team activities.

All outstanding invoices must be paid, regardless of the player’s attendance or participation level.

TAKING A BREAK FOR THE SUMMER

We are often asked whether it is possible to pause participation (and billing) for the summer and then return in the autumn.

While it is possible to take a break from attending practices, this does not affect the season’s activity fee. The activity fee is based on the entire season and cannot be suspended for the summer months. Billing will only end if the player submits a cancellation notice according to the instructions above.

If a player submits a cancellation notice in May and returns in August, the participation will be considered continuous. In this case, the full season activity fee will still apply.
